The main goal of this project is to map and assess ecosystem services in the Province of Barcelona and integrate them in the existing decision-support tool SITxell. This tool is used by the Barcelona Provincial Council to support municipalities in their revision of landscape and urban planning instruments and strategies. Specific objectives include:

• Development of spatially explicit indicators of ecosystem services (supply and demand), ecological functions and biodiversity for the Province of Barcelona.
• Assessment of the spatial distribution of ecosystem service bundles in relation to different territorial and planning units (e.g., landscape units, protected areas, etc.).
• Proposal of a green infrastructure model for the Province of Barcelona based on the different aforementioned indicators to support landscape and urban planning strategies.
