I am currently pursuing a PhD in Environmental Science and Technology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (ICTA-UAB) under the BCNUEJ and LASEG labs. My doctoral research focuses on racial justice in biodiversity conservation planning and practice in Catalonia. I am also interested in debates of knowledge production, feminist geography, and political ecology.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Leiden University in the Netherlands and a master’s in Environment & Development from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. During my masters, I completed a stay at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) where I also conducted fieldwork for my MSc thesis. Prior to this PhD, I worked as a researcher at the University of Granada in a Horizon project focusing on energy communities in rural areas. I also have worked on applied research for UNDP’s Human Development Report Office and on advocacy within the NGO sector.
