Alba Ortiz Naumann

PhD Researcher

I am a doctoral researcher within the BIG-5 Project, investigating the role of social media in fostering Digital Relational Values related to nature and environmental stewardship. I hold a BSc in Marine Biology with Oceanography from the University of Southampton (UK), although my research interests have always been driven by a curiosity about the human dimension of environmental change. This led me to pursue a MSc in Global Change Ecology at the University of Bayreuth (Germany), linking natural science perspectives with approaches of social science disciplines and a second masters degree in Therapeutical Neuroscience, focusing on behavioral psychology. My previous research was centered on sport ecology and cultural ecosystem services using social media data. Beyond academia, I am involved with Protect Our Winters, an NGO advocating for climate action and Sportainable, a think tank dedicated to sustainability in sports.
