I hold a PhD in Geography (UAB), an MSc in Remote Sensing and GIS, and a BA in Geography. I have provided consulting services for international organizations such as UNEP-MAP and the EEA, focusing on harmonizing spatial indicators to support the monitoring and compliance of European and Mediterranean environmental policies. My doctoral research, 'Climate Change Adaptation in the Delta del Llobregat: Local Response-Ability', deepened my understanding of climate risk governance, the role of uncertainty, and the management of complex issues at the local scale. This experience involved employing robust theoretical frameworks, refining reflective processes, and adopting methodologies rooted in transdisciplinary, bottom-up approaches.
My research interests focus on exploring place-based capacities for adaptive and transformative change from various perspectives. Currently, I am investigating how Nature-based Solutions can reduce social and ecological vulnerabilities in different territorial contexts. I am involved in a Horizon 2020 project called INTERLACE (2021-2024), which focuses on the effective restoration and rehabilitation of (peri)urban ecosystems, as well as a MITECO-E.SBN project titled 'Sistematización de Soluciones Basadas en Naturaleza en España' aimed at mainstreaming Nature-based Solutions as climate change adaptation measures.
