I am an INPhINIT fellow and PhD researcher at ICTA-UAB. I hold a master’s degree in marine science from the Université Côte d’Azur and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). I am an interdisciplinary researcher shaped by my career as an an engineer, analyst, and natural scientist. As an engineer, I invented bottom-up ways to repurpose plastic bags in Tanzania. As an analyst, I worked for the government of San Francisco to inform the city’s climate action plan. As a researcher, I studied seagrass soil carbon disturbances from boat anchoring.
Now, I am a PhD researcher interested in the science-policy-culture nexus of blue carbon. I am interested in how environmental concepts such as blue carbon facilitate interactions between science, policy, and culture as well as how these interactions co-produce climate change responses and environmental narratives.
