PhD Researcher

I am an enthusiast of environmental conservation and land ecosystems restoration. I hold a MSc in Interdisciplinary Studies in Environmental, Economic and Social Sustainability with a major in Global Change (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), and a BSc in Biology (Universidad de Oviedo).

My PhD aims to contribute to the sustainability of rural socio-ecological systems in Spain. Specifically, it investigates the interlinkages between generational succession in family farming and agroecosystem sustainability transitions. All this with a special focus on young farmers, in the milieu of rural depopulation and aging, and the broader context of food systems industrialization. To do so, I will combine qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze the constraints and opportunities for agrarian change and inform decision-making in rural development interventions and policies.
